BioNative®

About:

$0.77

BioNative® is a sustainable native sod blend designed for Utah’s arid landscapes. Made from carefully selected native grass species found in the west desert, it thrives in both sunny and shaded areas with minimal maintenance. BioNative should be left un-mowed, and has a seed head at maturity that reached around 18″. Once established, it will survive on natural rainfall, but is commonly watered 1-2 times per month during the summer to maintain color. This resilient wheatgrass withstands Utah’s climate extremes with very little inputs, and is most commonly used along trails, retention ponds, steep hillsides, and as erosion control on large commercial projects.

Developed by expert turf scientists, BioNative® combines the best native grass varieties to create a sod that is both visually appealing and highly durable. It maintains a rich green color from early spring through late autumn and boasts impressive self-repairing abilities.

Designed to handle Utah’s unique climate, this blend is highly drought-tolerant and can flourish with little to no irrigation once established. Unlike many sod types, BioNative® excels in shaded areas, taking root and thriving where other grasses struggle.

Grown to maturity and meticulously harvested at a 5-inch height, this sod arrives in easy-to-install slabs and rolls, ensuring top-tier quality from the moment it’s delivered. BioNative® can be left in its natural state, growing up to 36 inches for a meadow-like look, or mowed regularly to maintain a manicured 5-inch height. While not ideal for high-traffic areas, it’s perfect for those looking to create a lush, sustainable landscape with minimal upkeep.
